ChaO Review

            Watching ChaO by Yasuhiro Aoki is akin to playing with a Hoberman Sphere. Upon first viewing there is a certain wonder about it. It consists of many colors and seems to expand and contort with each push and pull. The combination of hand drawn and computer animations lends itself to a fast-paced ChaOs permeates this film. Right away we are introduced to a reporter named Juno who is gunning for the next big scoop in a world where Humans and Merman alike embark on the trials of day-to-day living.             Shortly after he misses the opportunity to catch a lead, he notices a fisherman who looks awfully close to the picture of a man in a book he’s read many times in his life.
